Lower East Side Storm Damage Causes Major Loss
This Lower East Side basement had widespread storm damage that caused a number of issues in the home. The tile flooring delaminated and underneath the raised tiles created a perfect environment for mold growth which rapidly spread around the room. The technicians moved out the furniture and removed the floor tiles to dry the basement. As seen in the After Photo, the loss area needed a complete takedown of the sheetrock on the walls and cabinets. Because of the porous nature of brick and masonry, those areas needed exposure to the drying equipment to ensure all embedded moisture got removed. The techs monitor the process carefully to make sure interior humidity levels are unfavorable for mold growth before cleaning and treating with antimicrobial cleaners and sealants.
