Storm Demolition and Drying of a Lower East Side Structure
The driving rain and flooding invaded the cinder block exterior of this building in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. The visible damage to the sheetrock below the window was demolished and removed along with the tack strips and carpet. The damp vapor barrier also needed removal. The skilled SERVPRO technicians are trained WRT water damage restoration technicians who understand that all moisture, apparent or hidden, must be dried to prevent potential microbial growth. The pictured sensor is measuring the moisture content within the cinder block hollow cell. We check, leave nothing to chance or luck, to ensure that standard levels of moisture content is achieved. We can use heated air movers, forced air using injecti-dry equipment, and dehumidifiers to ensure a successful outcome.
